Custom brake caliper RFQ checklist

Purpose
Collect dimension and matching-file questions for a custom brake caliper before factory quotes are requested.

RFQ Checklist decision points

Requirement and confirmation ledger
Decision point Buyer / supplier question
Product Name the custom brake caliper family, axle, left/right, piston count and diameter, bracket hole pitch, parking-brake mechanism and the disc or hat the body must clear. Provide OE reference only as an identification aid.
Quantity State count on a pieces, pairs or kit basis and list whether brackets, guide pins, boots and fasteners travel with the body. Minimum order quantity is a supplier answer, not a figure invented here.
Destination Include country, US state/ZIP, requested timing and, if already chosen, Incoterms. Gross package weight and packing unit affect freight comparison and should be requested with the quote.
Open choices Note optional budget (currency and per-unit or total-order), supplier preference (high-end, mid-range, budget, undecided) and remaining drawing questions. Preferences are buyer trade-offs, not verified factory grades.

Files to request, not achievements to claim

Ask for application drawings, mounting dimensions in millimetres, disc-thickness range, hydraulic port specification, material grade, surface finish and a contents list. If a supplier mentions a test report, bind it to the quoted part number and revision; do not treat a generic family brochure as batch evidence. Sample approval should record the sample identifier; later lots still need agreed inspection points.

This checklist does not assert that Caliperway Sourcing owns tooling, a laboratory or completed factory audits. Custom geometry may be declined by a plant; that outcome is a supplier decision. Bicycle calipers, decorative covers, paint-only jobs and removal tools stay outside this RFQ.

What to send

Vehicle, part reference, quantity and destination, plus the custom dimension questions still open.
