Truck brake caliper matching for disc systems

Each truck brake caliper scenario starts with a documented axle and disc requirement, not an assumed universal fit. Heavy-duty envelopes still need piston, bracket and parking-brake confirmation from the quoted supplier.

Requirements by buying scenario

Parts wholesale
Clarify catalog references, packing units, left/right assortments and reorder expectations. Keep kit BOMs and individual caliper bodies on separate lines so a disc-brake program is not priced as a mixed bundle. Request supplier declaration of new versus remanufactured condition before ranking landed cost.
Workshop distribution
Clarify installation position, included hardware, guide-pin/boot contents and vehicle application range. Connector or casting resemblance is not vehicle fitment. Ask which disc thickness range and bolt pattern the quoted truck brake caliper was selected against.
Fleet purchasing
Separate vehicle configurations and planned quantities by axle. Sample approval on one tractor does not qualify a later production batch on a different wheel-end. Record destination ZIP, requested timing and whether parking-brake actuation is hydraulic, mechanical or combined.
Special project inquiry
Document altered interfaces, custom brackets or non-catalog piston counts and request supplier confirmation before accepting alternatives. Custom envelopes belong on the RFQ checklist page; this page stays on application grouping.

New, remanufactured, kit or piece

Buyers comparing truck programs often mix a new sealed body with a remanufactured core-return offer. Those are different supply conditions: ask for packaging statements on new parts, and for rebuild scope plus core terms on reman units. A complete axle kit that includes brackets and pins cannot be compared with a body-only line using the same unit price. Sample acceptance is a versioned event; batch consistency still needs agreed checks.

Limits: this page does not certify road use, ABS interaction or any state’s equipment rule. Electrical interfaces on related wheel-speed sensors are outside the caliper RFQ unless the buyer names them. Custom dimension checklist
